Tretton, 30, joined Stanley from Hereford Town in the summer of 2005, but sustained a serious knee injury whilst on his first Stanley Pre-Season. The defender who also played for Championship outfit Derby County and Shrewsbury Town, failed to make a single appearance this season through his injury. "It's best for me and my family to take stock as I've been banging my head against a wall," he told the Hereford Journal.
"I found after the couple of games I played that I couldn't do anything for a few days afterwards. "The decision I've made is not a snap one - it's been coming for some time."
