Basically to steerious1 and the rest of the Left, absolutely nothing is worth fighting for. They d rather submit to anything than stand up for anything.
Even in the Bible, that had to fight to defend their families, their friends and their way of life.

To live in slavery and subjugation is no alternative. To abase yourself in order to merely continue to draw a breath is no high ideal.
Hide behind your sofa, stroking your rabbit s foot - the only religious talisman you might accept - and hope that better men than you grant you the space to continue drawing breaths, by their sacrifices.

Not true.

It s not quite as simple as you like to make it. If you ll allow me to paint with the same broad paint brush, the landscape would look like this to me:
Those who tend to perceive things from the left stand up for the oppressed.
Those who tend to perceive things from the right stand up for the oppressors.

One is much louder and much more powerful than the other. Unfortunately, I m not on the winning side. Furtunately, history has shown that an army of one can win the battle.

The operative words in that sentence are: THEIR friends, THEIR families, THEIR way of life.
Not life, but rather, Dan says, Their way of life.

Because according to the bible according to Dan, not all life is sacred, just SOME life.
I believe that is where humanity went wrong. And we haven t been able to recover from living within that myth since.

It s a story, Dan. A myth. One of many.

Our modern way of life is defined narrowly as addicted to oil and some justify killing others in order to defend our way of life. And some, the true-believers, believe that God is on their side. Their battle cry is: if God is with us, who can be against us?

Others, and I m one of them, believe that once we start justifying killing in order to defend our addicted-to-oil-way-of-life, then we need to find another way of living in the world. And if you KNOW this and justify killing for your addicted-to-oil-way-of-life anyway, with God on your side, then humanity needs to search for another God.
