New York, NY (AHN) - Former Misfits frontman Glenn Danzig is set to release "The Lost Tracks of Danzig," a two-disc set of previously unreleased tracks.
Featuring music that spans the singer's entire post-Misfits career, the 26-song compilation will be released May 29 on his Evilve label.
"Whenever I've made a new album, I've recorded more songs than were needed for the final CD," Danzig said in a statement.
"The songs that make it onto the final album 'fit' or 'flow' together as a whole. Consequently, some tremendous Danzig songs have never been released, not because they weren't great, but because they don't fit the overall vibe of the particular album, or for other reasons."
The singer began the project while the songs were in various stages of completion.
Some of the 26 tracks were still in demo form. Others were missing vocals, instruments or mixing.
Ordered chronologically, the album starts out with songs written just before the band Samhain's demise.
"The Lost Tracks" also will include "Come to Silver," a song written for Johnny Cash, but recorder by Danzig with Alice in Chains guitarist Jerry Cantrell.
The discs also include covers of songs by T.REX, David Bowie and The Germs.
