NEW DELHI, Jan 19 (APP): Pakistan rsquo;s High Commissioner to India Shahid Malik Friday underscored the need for greater interaction between the two countries in different areas. Speaking at the launching of a book titled ldquo; Lahore - A sentimental Journey scripted by Pran Nevile, he said that recent visit of Indian External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee to Pakistan went off well and the decisions taken on the occasion were expected to be implemented soon.
During the forthcoming visit of Foreign Minister Khurshid Mehmood Kasuri here next month, Mr Malik said what was agreed during Mukherjee rsquo;s visit, would be finalized.


He further said, ldquo;Our efforts was to resolve all issues including Kashmir dispute rdquo; adding both sides were seized of the fact that the issues need to be resolved.
High Commissioner said it augured well that ideas proposed by President Pervez Musharraf for the settlement of Kashmir issue were we lcomed here.
About the liberalization of visa regime, he said it was expected to be finalized shortly which would help foster people to people contacts between the two countries.


Praising the work of the book rsquo;s author Pran Nevile, former veteran Indian diplomat, he said that Lahore owed its grandeur and splendor to Mughals. ldquo;Lahore remains in our heart and we have a great association with this city which does not lose its charm rdquo;, he added.
Pran Nevile who was born in Lahore and studied in this historic city before partition said, ldquo;you can not describe Lahore, you can only feel it.

Lahore is soul of the Punjab and defies description rdquo;, he added.
During the question-answer session, one of the questioners characterized Lahore as center of education, culture, literature, poetry, dialogue, revolution, fashion, designs and several other healthy trends of life.
