Philippine Entertainment Portal | Views | Features | Julia Clarete shares her sacrifices as expectant mom

Four months into her pregnancy, Julia Clarete reveals her sacrifices for her first baby. I can t do anything. I can t go out.

Wala akong social life, declares Julia during her autograph signing at Robinsons Galleria Movieworld last December 17. Julia tells PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) about the limitations imposed on her by her delicate condition. For now, until next year siguro pahinga muna ako until my baby comes out in May [2007].

Kasi I have an album to promote [Bumalik Ka Lang]...

Ang dami-dami kong nami-miss mdash;yung mga gig, yung banda. Hindi rin nga ako makapag-banda ngayon e. Miss ko lahat mdash;even painting because I can t smell the fumes [that could harm the baby].

She explains that her sudden decision to put her showbiz career on hold is due to her delicate condition mdash;she has a retroverted or tipped uterus. Instead of having a uterus that is leaning forward to her stomach, Julia s uterus is tilted backwards to her spine. Aside from having this condition, Julia also had a throat problem that could pose a threat to her own health as well as the baby s.

Nagkaroon nga ako ng throat problem. Hindi ko pa mapagamot dahil hindi ako pwedeng i-anesthesia e. Dalawa lang ang solusyon nito mdash;either ooperahan ako o dadaanin sa gamot.

She continues: But I can t have either kasi pag dinaan sa gamot baka maapektuhan yung baby. Kapag [operation] naman, baka [may mangyari] rin sa baby dahil sa anesthesia so kailangan kong hintayin hanggang sa manganak ako [sa May 2007] para mapagamot ko yung sarili ko. When asked if they have chosen a name for her baby, Julia says, If it s a girl, Solluna yung gusto kong pangalan.

Kasi noon pa, before I thought [if] I could get pregnant and [become] a mom, dapat magpapa-tattoo ako dito sa scar ko [pointing to her tummy]. Ipapalagay ko Solluna [which means sun/moon in Spanish and Latin, respectively]. When asked to explain why she chose this unique name, Julia replies, Kasi alam mo naman yung mga taong bulakbol mdash;yung mga pasaway mdash;kapag nagkaroon ng anak, sobra.

Ang mga pasaway lsquo;pag tumino, sobrang tino. So feeling ko, sobrang magiging buwan [saka] araw ko yung bata [na ito]. In case her baby is a boy, Julia says that her husband, Stephen Ryan Uy, wants the name Sebastian for their firstborn child.
