THE next Scotsman Wildlife Watch takes place this weekend, with a special focus on red and grey squirrels.
Readers are asked to go out into their gardens, parks and the countryside between Friday and Monday and record any species that they see.
Records will be collected by The Scotsman and passed on to Biological Recording in Scotland and the Scottish Wildlife Trust, which is supporting the project.

Dozens of readers took part in the last survey in December, with 96 species being recorded.
Records should include the name of the species, when it was seen, where it was seen (either as a six-figure grid reference or a postcode) and your own name and contact details.
Sightings of both red and grey squirrels will be passed on to the Scottish Squirrel Survey, a project to find out how far north grey squirrels have come and where red squirrels still live.

• Notes of sightings and photographs can be e-mailed to or posted to: Wildlife Watch, The Scotsman, 108 Holyrood Road, Edinburgh EH8 8AS.
