Tinley Park native Gina Glocksen had it rough last week on Fox-TV's "American Idol" when her version of "Paint It Black" received harsh criticism and could've landed her in the bottom three but didn't.
But this week on the reality show, Glocksen sealed the deal for another round by conjuring up a bit of Chrissie Hynde to let her vocal range really shine. Glocksen, an Andrew High School graduate now living in Naperville, made a wise choice Tuesday with the Pretenders' "I'll Stand By You.

"
America voted and stood by Glocksen, who seemed to hold it together Wednesday during a performance by Gwen Stefani and Akon before being told she was in the clear.
After 30 million votes, Chris Sligh wasn't so fortunate and got the boot over Haley Scarnato and Phil Stacey, who were also among the bottom three.
The contestants are again evenly divided with four women and four men .

.. at least we think Sanjaya Malakar's a man, isn't he?

Maybe next week he'll have ponytails or a tiara given his penchant for playing with his hairstyles. Better yet, maybe he'll be sent home as he should've been eons ago.
