WEVER The new mayor of Wever, Mike Schafer, officially was crowned, complete with a sash, during the Super Bowl half time Sunday. He's just one of our locals that comes out and watches all the sporting events, said Jeff Edwards, event organizer and owner of the Green Bay Tap. Schafer won his title by competing against fellow candidates in shuffleboard, darts, pool and golf.

Each candidate paid $10 to compete, with the money going to the Burlington YWCA Domestic Violence Shelter. It went really well this year, Edwards said. We had 80 people enter, so we were able to raise $800.
