Camille Heffley, a young-looking 70-year-old from Yuba City, said Oprah inspired her to come to the open casting-call at the Silver Dollar Saloon on Saturday.

#8220Oprah always has these wonderful shows that tell you to do what you want before you die. This is my chance, Heffley said.


#8220I m an aspiring actress that s never made it to Hollywood, and I m on my way now, she said.

Heffley was one of about 50 people crowded inside the Marysville bar-restaurant at Saturday s casting call. The locals made a colorful collage with varied looks, ages and clothing styles.

But each had something in common. They wanted a shot at fame.

Media Casting, a Sacramento-based casting company was at the event seeking actors and extras for projects taking place throughout Northern California.

#8220End of Trail, a western film by local Sacramento filmmaker Fred DeRuva is one of the projects open to local talent.

Those at the casting call filled out a registration form, got a head shot taken and went through an interview process.
Sisters Tatumn and Miki McDougal came to the audition because they love being the center of attention.

They stood in the casting line with their eyes on the prize.

#8220I want to make a lot of money and I want people to know who I am, said 14-year-old Tatumn.

#8220I want to be a superstar, 7-year-old Miki added.


Stage actor Richard Rawlinson said he s curious about what it would be like to be on big screen. The 57-year-old said he s got what it takes to make the switch.

#8220I ve had experience.

I ve got desire and I have a face the camera loves, he said.

In addition to the casting call, information was passed out how to be considered for ABC s Wife Swap.

Kelly Libby of Yuba City wants her family to be on the show.



#8220I watch it all the time and I love it. My kids said, We want a new mommy, so I say, I ll give you a new mommy, Libby said.

She said her family would probably be typecast as chaotic.
