REESE Witherspoon has broken her silence after splitting from husband Ryan Phillippe who was romantically linked to an Australian actress.
The Oscar winner ended the couple's seven-year marriage after Phillippe was linked to Abbie Cornish, 24, on the Texas set of military drama Stop Loss.
Witherspoon said she was getting through the split by spending time with girlfriends and focusing on the couple's children - daughter Ava, 7, and son Deacon, 3.
I am very lucky - I have a great life, she said.
At this time in my life, it's about spending time with my kids, really connecting with my friends.
Witherspoon, who is one of Tinseltown's highest-paid actresses, earning $19 million a film, last week dropped out of the remake of drama Bunny Lake Is Missing just a month before it was due to start shooting.
The Walk The Line star, who had previously taken some fashion hits for making dowdy clothing choices, has sported a sexy new image since returning to the spotlight for the Golden Globes in January.
In her first interview since the split, Witherspoon told US Harper's Bazaar, out March 27, that she had purged her wardrobe and turned over a new fashion leaf since ending the marriage.
