Clothing, slippers needed at CYO
``People Helping People'' is a list of charitable causes in our area that need donations or volunteers. These causes have not been investigated by the Beacon Journal to determine their merit, so potential donors should verify the worthiness of the cause and the tax-deductibility of contributions. Guidelines for submitting requests to ``People Helping People'' can be found at , along with guidance on donating to charities and a list of all causes that have been published in the paper to date.
CYO Community Services Adult Day Services, 812 Biruta St., Akron, OH 44307, serving the young, the disabled, the elderly and the poor, needs the following items before Tuesday:
For men: shirts, size XL; winter gloves; button-down shirts, sizes M, L and 2XL; robes, size L; socks; sweat shirts, size XL and 2XL; and slippers, sizes M and L.
For women: slippers, size M; mittens; sweaters, sizes M, L, XL and 2XL; bathrobes; and purses.
The organization also is seeking financial support for its annual Partners In Giving campaign, as well as volunteers to help in programs throughout the year.
