The proceeds from the sale will go to the Mines Advisory Group (MAG), an organization that helps support mine damaged Africa. "The support from celebrities for the shoe auction has been fantastic and resulted in an impressive collection of footwear," Ratethemusic quoted charity director Lou McGrath as saying. "The money raised will play a vital role in clearing the remnants of conflict, preventing injuries and deaths and regenerating communities," Lou added.

The money will mainly be used to support a campaign that aims at removing unexploded bombs in Lebanon. "The money is especially needed for our work in Lebanon, where the UN estimates there are around 100,000 unexploded bombs at 359 separate sites," Lou said. Bidding on the website continues until December 8.
