A Memphis man who found another man murdered just across the street from his home is upset about what he says is a rise in crime in his neighborhood.
Memphis Police are on the hunt for two people after they found the man s body on the street, riddled with bullets.
"It was too close to me," says neighbor Willie Price.
Price has lived on Chelsea for more than half a decade. Friday night, he came upon an unsettling sight just across the street from his doorstep.
Price adds, "I seen the guy laying in the street and that s something I wouldn t want to see.
"
Police say a clash between Alfonso Murray and two men escalated into gunshots. They say the men gunned Murray down and ran off.
Though Price is disturbed by what happened, he s not surprised, "this whole street has been known throughout the years to be a drug street.
"
And, he s worried there s no community cooperation to form a Neighborhood Watch.
"I think a Neighborhood Watch should be everywhere," says Price.
Price says a murder on his block was the last straw.
He feels he has no choice but to abandon his old neighborhood.
"I am gonna leave. Within the next couple of months I plan on being somewhere else," says Price.
He says even though he s leaving, he d like to see more police patrols along Chelsea.
Police have vague descriptions of the two men.
One was wearing all dark clothing, the other had a blue stocking cap, brown shirt and slippers.
